I'm pleased with this toaster. It's very lightweight, making it easy to move around and put away, and it stays cool. The print directions aren't great, and it took some experimenting (and midly burned waffles) to get the right settings for frozen waffles, but they come out perfectly now.
ONE OF THE BEST TOASTER i EVER HAD. HAD ONE BEFORE FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS AND IT FELL AND BROKE.
It sure is pretty though. It gave off a chemical burning smell on the first use.
I got one of the bad ones. I decided that the sale price made the gamble worth it.
I read some of the Amazon reviews, and it seems like some people got a good toaster and some got a bad toaster. The factory box was packaged incorrectly -- toaster squashing one of the cardboard inserts.
I lose. It burns one side no matter what setting I use.
It only gave off the normal burnt toast smell after that. Should I go double or nothing.
Bought it at Amazon for $27. Our old toaster was getting a little slow so we needed a new one. I did a bit of reseach before making this purchase. Arrived on time and packaged well. After reading some reviews decided to go with the Cuisinart. "On sale" at Kohls for $35, "on sale at JC Penney for $30. Controls are placed well and are accurate. Toasts like a pro and we are loving our Sunday morning bagels.
It has no toxic-smelling black plastic, you can put very thin slices in and they won't fall down into the wires, and you can put small bread in it and still be able to fetch it out without turning the toaster upside-down or burning yourself - the lift feature lifts very high. One side of the toast comes out lightly toasted, while the other side is totally burned. But if it toasts THAT unevenly, it's really not a toaster, it's just a useless piece of junk. And, no, I don't have it set on bagel setting. What a shame this toaster can't toast even close to evenly, since in every other way it's wonderful. Cuisinart, why did you put your good name on this. What were you thinking.
